I’m a writer, editor, musician, bookseller, and co-founder of Read and Write Kalamazoo (RAWK), a literacy nonprofit that celebrates and amplifies youth voice by forging avenues for collaboration, creativity, and joy.
My professional writing and editing has served varied functions in marketing and internal and external development for nonprofit and for-profit entities alike. My experience includes ad copy, newsletters, brochures, capital campaigns, catalogs, annual reports, websites, liner notes for albums, internal materials for nonprofit and for-profit entities, grant writing from concept to report, drafting strategic plans and other foundational organizational documents, development materials such as handbooks and manuals, programs for theatrical productions and concerts, anthologies, and just about anything else that assembles words together and tries to wrangle them into meaning.
My process prioritizes collaboration and is based in thorough research and fidelity to accessibility. My work is in service to voice, carrying out and clarifying vision while honoring and maintaining individual tone and perspective. I strive to make my hand in your work invisible. My creative work materializes in many formats, short and longform fiction, nonfiction, screenplays, and lyrics for various musical projects. My short fiction can be seen at Smokelong Quarterly, Lost Balloon, and The Collagist.
